Richard Cynan will be leading cyanotype photography sessions in Mostyn on the 12th and 19th of October, 6.30pm-8.30pm, all you need is a digital camera or a phone camera… don’t worry if you don’t have either you can still make cyanotypes without the use of a camera. To all who are interested… The wonderful Dee Rivaz will be leading a creative workshop aptly named ‘Make your Mark’ on the 30th of October between 11am and 3pm in Mostyn’s Education space. So come along and join in with the fun and get creative!!!
Gwawr leaves us on Friday the 19th of August to pursue a career in London. Since joining the team as Retail Manager of the redeveloped shop, Gwawr has brought her welcome, style and keen eye for beautiful things to Mostyn. By establishing the Craft Showcase and Christmas Window Commission, she has greatly enhanced the profile of craft and design in the area and has made the Mostyn shop the destination along the north Wales coast to find that special hand-made gift or treat.
We wish her well in the future.
When Mostyn reopened in May 2010, following an extensive award winning expansion and refurbishment programme led by Ellis Williams Architects, the National Poet of Wales Gillian Clarke was commissioned to write a celebratory poem to mark the occasion. In conjunction with Translators’ House Wales – a partnership between Wales Literature Exchange and Tŷ Newydd – Mostyn is hosting a competition for a Welsh translation of Gillian’s poem The Tree.
