Correlation

In his work Colin Williams maps out the possibilities of abstraction through the effects of nature on the physicality of paint. Linked is an interest in the place of art, in terms of where and how it is made and shown. These strands are often brought together as an attempt to create an abstract kind of realism. In Correlation, Williams takes forward these ideas to create three works, one of which is specially made for and in response to gallery 5, which plays with the slippage between painting and sculpture.
Originally from Llandudno and recently returned from Belfast, Colin Williams is a member of CASC Studios in Garage Street adjacent to the Mostyn.
